This month I watched three great movies, La Tragedia de Macario, Water (2 DVD Special Edition) and Fire.

If you have ever been interested in knowing the social factors or the other perspective that may or may not be the cause of immigration (legal or unauthorized) you have to see these movies.

The content of the movies is strong and they portrait the social factors that affect or affected the people of two of the cultures that have a lot of representation in the bay area, Mexico and India.

The movie La Tragedia de Macario involves one of the many cases of people full of dreams that see the other side of the border as the only way to make them true and die trying to reach them. The other two show how India was decades ago, I would imagine that it has changed and that is not common any more. Great movies the two of them and quite different than all the bollywood movies that I have seen so far.

Estos últimos días he estado muy entretenido y divertido en el trabajo que no he tenido ganas de programar en casa, así que en mi tiempo libre me he dedicado a otras cosas, tales como ver televisión y hacer ejercicio (vaya combinación), sin embargo, el proceso de aprendizaje de Ruby ha seguido adelante y aun cuando no hay avance en el proyecto si hay avance en el conocimiento que me gustaría dejar asentado aquí, por otro lado para los que ha seguido el desarrollo del proyecto sepan que sigue avanzando.

En fin, lo que he descubierto al momento es que utilizando la clase IO es posible desarrollar el proyecto de forma mucho mas simple, y sencilla que como originalmente se propuso, creo que el numero de lineas se puede reducir considerablemente también.

Pero, tomando en cuenta los objetivos educativos propuestos inicialmente he decidido seguir la ruta propuesta inicialmente (ya que la propuesta alterna por lo simple que parece no va a abarcar todos los objetivos propuestos) y considerar la otra propuesta como una propuesta alterna, la cual también será implementada y serán comparadas como parte del proceso de aprendizaje.

Bueno, una vez asentado lo anterior me regreso a seguir estudiando, esperen la siguiente versión del código fuente.

We are exactly one month away from the holidays and yesterday I got into the scale and my weight was 203. I need to be 195 before Thanksgiving is here, so I decided that I needed to do something starting today.

So from today on to Nov 24th, I will be posting my fitness routine here, I will be posting my progress at least once a week, even if they are bad news, hopefully by doing that I will keep the motivation up and make my goal.

On the Quest of 195 (day = 33, weight = 203).

I started my fitness routine by walking from home to work, it took me close to 40 minutes each way, and the whole trip I estimate is probably around 2.5 miles.

But as in any type of weight loss routine, I finally went today for lunch to the now famous Sancho’s Taqueria in Redwood City, I got tacos for lunch but their menu looked pretty good, it has been recommended by almost everybody and it was as expected, good food but not as good salsas.
