On the Quest of 195 (day 7)

Well, I’m exactly seven days away from Thanksgiving and 3 pounds away from my weight goal set for that date, I’m at 198 right now and I will be happy to get to 197 in the last 7 days of the period.

I stopped completely the exercise, I have been pretty busy at work and also with personal projects and parties, and I know all that is a good excuse, but I have been doing good progress, I actually beat my goal in kilograms today, now I’m under 90Kg and that feels pretty good.

The goal will be missed but I learned that taking off 8 pounds is a pretty aggressive goal to be achieved during the fall, I had a huge diner at the Citrus Steak House in Santana Row to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, I had Chocolate Caliente with Pan de Muerto to celebrate Dia de Muertos and I had several birthday parties along that time, and also for this weekend we are expecting my sister’s visit from Mexico, so we will keep going with the restaurants and the parting.

Expect one last post to see where I got and the final words on the quest of 195.

On the Quest of 195 (day 24)

So I started by walking from home to work and vice versa, and it looked like a great idea, but I was doing it more like a relaxing walk than a weight loss type of walk, also with the daylight savings coming to an end the afternoon walk translated into a walking in the dark.

Well, after that, I had to change the approach and got into a Precor Elliptical Crosstrainer Machine and was doing 2500 steps in around 25 minutes, that looked more like exercising; I did that the rest of last week, but this week I’m kind of busy at work so who knows what I’m going to do in order to get there.

Here are the facts at 24 days remaining and two pounds lost in almost 10 days: the task right now is to lose one pound per every four days in order to reach the goal, it still looks reasonable if I find a way of keep the exercise under this weather conditions.

I’ll keep posting the progress.

On the Quest of 195 (day 33)

We are exactly one month away from the holidays and yesterday I got into the scale and my weight was 203. I need to be 195 before Thanksgiving is here, so I decided that I needed to do something starting today.

So from today on to Nov 24th, I will be posting my fitness routine here, I will be posting my progress at least once a week, even if they are bad news, hopefully by doing that I will keep the motivation up and make my goal.

On the Quest of 195 (day = 33, weight = 203).

I started my fitness routine by walking from home to work, it took me close to 40 minutes each way, and the whole trip I estimate is probably around 2.5 miles.

But as in any type of weight loss routine, I finally went today for lunch to the now famous Sancho’s Taqueria in Redwood City, I got tacos for lunch but their menu looked pretty good, it has been recommended by almost everybody and it was as expected, good food but not as good salsas.

here are some of the photos that I took with my cell phone on the walking path which included the Foster City Shoreline, Oracle Walk Path and the Bayshore Technology Park walk path.
