Well, it looks like the http://www.munizfam.com and http://erick.munizfam.com are all back, everything seems to be working again, and in the process of moving myself out of my previous hosting company I upgraded to the latest version of WordPress, piece of cake as usual.

The only missing part of this puzzle is my photos subdomain, that is still down, so there is no private pictures of the family for now, and that’s mainly because I’m not sure if I want to keep the old format or move into a new way of doing the photos.

I have been using flickr to host my pictures and then blog them into a blog inside a restricted directory using blogger as the blog engine and I’m considering using coppermine, just because the photos will look nicer, I can have albums and I can have restricted access for certain albums and public access for other albums.

The cons about using coppermine of course is the bandwidth, right now the bill for bandwidth goes to flickr and if I use coppermine the bandwidth will be on me.

The cons for flickr is that I have to upload them to flickr, then create a post in blogger, and then publish from blogger into my protected directory, that seems like a lot of work sometimes and that keep me away from uploading regularly.

I will give it another day or two of thinking before you can see photos again.

I’m currently in the process of moving my website to a new host, so pretty much everything is broken right now. I will try to put this thing up as soon as I can.

In order to finish the porting to WordPress and be able to say that I’m done changing the look and feel of the website I still need to accomplish to folllowing tasks which I expect to be done by thursday night.

• Modify the theme so that I can have a Recent Posts section in the sidebar.
• Modify the theme so that I can have a section with some of my Flickr photos.
• Change the About photo to an updated one.
• Take the same look and feel and propagate it to my private photos and the munizfam site even if they are not in WordPress.

So, expect still some more changes.

This is my new blog, after almost three years using Blogger I finally moved myself to WordPress, in the process I played a little bit with Mambo, but that was too much for what I needed.

I finished the configuration and the look and feel today, so I think this is it. I may try to move over my old posts into here but it may not work, at least the import function hasn’t worked yet.
