Erick Muñiz Bio
Erick Muñiz currently holds a Senior Software Engineer position at Planetweb; for over seven years he has participated bringing up the Planetweb SpectraCore UI Engine, and the Planetweb Internet Browser to multiple platforms, including Set Top Boxes, DVD players, PVR, ATSC Converter Boxes, Cellular Phones, Digital Cameras and other home appliances. Other activities include the design and development of custom applications for new compilers and chipsets to show the SpectraCore UI capabilities on those platforms.
Before joining Planetweb Erick Muñiz was a Software Developer at Dextra Technologies where he worked for Planetweb developing custom applications for Set Top Boxes and participated in the implementation of the Planetweb Browser v.2.0; He also redesigned and implemented a proprietary online solution for human resources control at Dextra Technologies.
Prior to Dextra Technologies, Erick Muñiz was a Professional Assistant at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey - Virtual University; His work included the design and development of CGI’s applications to support the online courses at the University and he was the coordinator for deploying the tools and contents for the courses of the Educational Technology Graduate Program. He was also in charge of supervising the UI Design of all the web courses of the Graduate School of Education.
Erick Muñiz is a former member of the “Mexican Society of Computer Science (Sociedad Mexicana de Ciencia de la Computación, SMCC)” and former participant in the SMCC Special Interest Group “Human Computer Interaction (Interacción Mediada por Computadora)”.
Erick Muñiz holds a Master of Science degree in Automation (Intelligent Systems) from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), a Bachelor degree in Computer Systems from the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua II and is currently enrolled in the MBA Program at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).
